Play with Consent
Big Little Secrets (BLS) does everything possible to create a safe, pleasant, and respectful environment at our events for all our visitors. At BLS parties, many things are possible, and you can do anything that the other person enjoys. In our opinion, this also belongs to the open-minded lifestyle that we cherish and that we want to enable for everyone. Whether you are a curious, open-minded newcomer or a seasoned, sociable hedonist: we want you to feel comfortable at BLS. To ensure that everyone feels at home and safe at our exclusive parties, consent (or the permission of the other person) and respect for everyone's boundaries are crucial.
Wanna play? First make eye contact and ensure consent.
Playful interactions and connections are wonderful and make life a delightful experience, but only when they are based on clear agreements. And only when you have explicitly received consent from the other person.
Consent begins with eye contact. So: without eye contact, there is no consent and therefore no interaction. It’s that simple. Whether it’s flirting, dancing, or more intimate interactions, respect for each other’s boundaries is paramount. Consent is sexy. Always check in with the other person to see if they are receptive to your touch.
BLS strives to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone feels free to express themselves and have fun. Without fear of unwanted situations or boundary-crossing behavior.
What can you do if someone touches you without your consent?
Report it. If someone crosses your boundary, come to us immediately on the evening itself and don’t take your concerns home with you. You can always approach the BLS staff at our Awareness Zone during our events. We are there for your enjoyment, all your questions, but also for your safety. Unsure? No matter what bothers you, it’s always good to come and talk. For whatever reason. That’s what we’re here for.
What else can you do?
If someone has crossed your boundary, you can go to our Awareness Zone to share your story or approach our security guards who are present everywhere. They are friendly people there to protect and assist you. Can’t find a security guard? Then head to the entrance of the playroom, where we always have someone stationed. Or contact the organization via the consent posters that are displayed in the bathrooms.
What do we do with visitors who cross boundaries?
BLS strictly enforces the Play with Consent policy. If you do not adhere to this, you will be denied access to the venue, your membership will be revoked immediately, and you will never be welcome at our parties again. Naturally, this is logical.
